The Cougars Div 1 team had another outstanding season in 2019.
They finished in second place on the ladder with 14 wins, 3 loses and a draw.
The team welcomed a new coach and a couple of new players and welcomed back some old faces.
In 2019 we saw Laura Giles have a stand out season in defence. Georgie Cuthbertson was a outstanding addition to the goal circle and Georgia Finn thrived in the mid-Court. These players were rewarded by making the VNL Team of the Year.
The team may have felt a sense of disappointment with the narrow 1 goal loss to Boroondara Express in the Preliminary Final. This just shows the high expectations that the individuals, team and the club have placed on themselves over past seasons.
With Mel Savage stepping up to coach the Div 1 team, we are really looking forward to seeing what they can deliver in 2020.
