The Geelong Netball Club is inviting expressions of interest from any persons interested in joining the Flyers Junior Development Program’s coaching group for 2019.

The FJDP runs a twelve-month program incorporating two seasons in the Parkville Netball Competition and development via training sessions, workshops, specialist sessions, targeted S&C and Leading Teams sessions.

The coaching group works collaboratively to deliver this program in consultation with the Operations Manager, Vicky McElligott and Flyer’s Development Coordinator, Tracy Dunstan.

The successful applicant will possess the following skills and attitudes:

• A passion for junior development and an understanding of specific needs for this age group.
• Experience in coaching at junior level and a proven record of development.
• A willingness to embrace an holistic approach to the delivery of the program.
• An ability to work collaboratively and engage with coaches, administrators and other persons who work within the program.
• A focus on individual development and not a ‘win at all costs’ mindset.
• An innovative and embracing attitude with a view to continuous improvement.

This role requires skills over and above that of netball coaching qualifications. While coaching knowledge and experience is highly desirable, it is essential that the applicant possesses an understanding of the needs and requirements of adolescent girls and the ability to relate to the players on an emotional and well-being level in addition to providing skill development.

If you are keen to be involved and feel you possess the qualities we are looking for, we are keen to hear from you. Please forward your expression of interest together with a short summary of your qualifications and relevant skills via email: flyerscoordinator@geelongnetball.com.au
